Denver National Western Stock Show 2010
Our heifer calf LBF Mae W14 was Reserve Champion Fullblood Summer Heifer Calf
She was sold at the Denver sale but we have a large variety of
top notch animals for sale with the best genetics
Lake Breeze Farms
Our farm specializes in raising registered beef cattle. Our herd includes both Lowline Angus and Belted Galloway . Both breeds trace their ancestry back to the traditional Angus. All our animals are raised free range and are strictly grass fed.
Both breeds are somewhat smaller than modern day Angus but produce outstanding quality beef. Their smaller size makes them ideal for today's family.
We usually have animals of both breeds for sale. These are either embryo or AI calves of well known Lowlines such as Nevada, Machine, Androsson Neron and Transam
and Belties from Uphill Hudson and Mc Leod.
Our Lowline breeding herd includes daughters of both Machine and Tequila. Our Belties include daughters of Uphill Hudson.
We only sell animals that we own. We do not accept deposits against unborn or future animals. We will gladly keep calves purchased by you on our farm until they have been weaned. We can provide packages of cow, calf and unrelated bull for those that may wish to get a head start on assembling their own herd. Rerences available upon request.
Belties on a mild winter day 2010
Here a few of our Belted Galloway brood cows. They are all bred for Spring calves to our Registered Beltie bull Mc Leod.
Two of our herd are Dun colored or sort of dirty blond and the rest are black. We hope to soon add some red belties.
The day after this picture was taken we had two feet of snow.
Farm History

Lake Breeze Farms is a family farm owned by Tom and Mary Begley and their children Eileen and Jim.
Eileen is a college junior studying Liberal Arts and Jim is a college freshman studying Agricultural Engineering.
We are located at Cross Lake in Cato, New York in the Finger Lakes Region of upstate New York.
We started our farm after Tom retired and sold his construction business. We appreciate very much the help
and guidance given by our neighbors Verne and Sue Montana at Quiet Valley Farms.www.quietvalleyfarms.com. They also raise registered Lowlines. We raise our cattle and hay and soybeans and corn. The photo to the right shows a portion of our soybean fields
almost ready to havest. The soybeans and corn are not used for feed but sold as a cash crop.
Although, we are not certified as organic, all of our hay and pasture operations are done organically. Our hayfields and pastures
are fertilized with organic fertilizers and manures. The only medication given our cattle are those necessary to protect their health.
Our commitment is to grass fed beef
The cattle on a late fall day are doing what they like
best- eating grass and relaxing
